This kind of plant always gets oohs and ahs at our shows, and it makes a nice addition to any orchid collection. It's a really nice mericlone of an AM-awarded orchid. The breeding is Mtssa Olmec x Brs Edvah Loo. The flowers are large, spidery and gorgeous, approximately four to five inches from top to bottom. The color is mahogany and pink, with interesting olive green bands. The lip has beautiful pink tones. Mature plants can have multiple spikes, with 6 to 8 flowers on each spike. These are large seedlings with one or two pseudobulbs. They are freshly repotted into 3.5 inch pots. The longest leaves are 8 to 9 inches and we always ship the largest. We think these are likely to flower within 18 to 24 months or so. Please note that this orchid is not in flower now. We have a number of these and we'll pick out a nice one for you. These are very nicely started and freshly repotted. This one looks a lot like the famous Miltassia Charles M Fitch 'Izumi' AM/AOS, but it has different breeding and if anything, even nicer flowers. The breeding is Bratonia Shelob x Bratonia Charles M. Fitch. This is a clone of the 'Lavender Taffy' cultivar, which has an 80-point AM, if you're into that sort of thing. It had 10 flowers on one spike. These are new, first registered in 2011. These seedlings are in 3.5 inch pots and they are probably 18 to 24 months from first flowering, but worth the wait in our opinion. We always ship the largest. The flowers are just stunning when they bloom. The color is a wonderful mottled lavender/purple on the petals and sepals, with a little olive green in the background; the large lip is a stunning lavender with some spots. They are easy to grow. A member of the oncidium family, this orchid (Brs varrucosa x Milt spectabilis) blooms twice a year when mature and pretty much grows like the proverbial weed. The flowers are just amazing -- relatively large, somewhat spidery and simply stunning. The color is a wonderful mottled lavender/purple on the petals and sepals, with a little olive green in the background; the large lip is a stunning lavender with some spots in the center. These are near blooming size plants with several pseudobulbs. We think they are likely to flower with 12 to 18 months. Mature plants can have 6 to 8 flowers per bloom spike and we have seen some grown up specimens with a dozen or more spikes all at once. Spectacular! These are easy to grow. And the great thing about these orchids is that they grow so quickly and easily that just about everyone can be successful raising them. AND they bloom several times a year once they reach blooming size. This particular version of Sharry Baby is called 'Sweet Fragrance' and the flowers are burgundy / maroon and white with a white lip. This one is Miltoniopsis Lennart Karl Gottling 'Hula Skirt', in shades of red and dark red with a white waterfall lip, a beautiful orchid. It's blooming size but NOT in flower now. It will put out stunning red and white flowers that look like those pictured. The breeding on this mericlone is Miltoniopsis Timberline x Miltoniopsis Pearl Ono. These orchids are in 4-inch pots and they tend to be spring and fall bloomers. They are not in flower now. They currently stand 12 to 14 inches high or more measured from the bottom of the pot. We have a bunch of these and we'll pick out a nice one for you. We always ship the largest. Miltoniopsis orchids are cool growers. Often called "The Pansy Orchid," many of them have a wonderful fresh fragrance. For home and hobby growers, we recommend them as a house plant. Just give them moderate indirect light, water thoroughly three times a week, fertilize weakly every two weeks. Provide a temperature range of 60 to 75 degrees or so. These do very well under lights.
