Camellias are native to eastern and southern Asia and represent longevity and faithfulness and have long been a primary floral component in Asian weddings. This Camellia is known for its beautiful flowers and long blooming season. Hot pink flowers, 2"-3" across, Semi-Double bloom in abundance with golden yellow stamen in the center and glossy dark green foliage. The Shishi Gashira Camellia is slow growing and is often called a dwarf Sasanqua because it is smaller growing than typical Sasanquas. These trees can tolerate a light frost, however it is best to keep them out of freezing temperatures for long periods of time.

The Mugo Pine is a stiff needled evergreen that is native to the mountains of south-central Europe and the Balkan Peninsula. 'Teeny' is its cultivar that grows medium green stubby needles very slowly. The needles grow in pairs of two to form a dense, well rounded, miniature tree. These characteristics make this cultivar a great Bonsai. Hardy, keep outdoors.

1 Quart of haydite. Haydite is a fired, expanded shale that has basically everything you want for your bonsai. It keeps soil "loose" by increasing porosity. The proper time to water them is when the leaves start to droop, just a little. They are one of the best low light house plants!
