Vanda Mimi Palmer x Vanda Sansai Blue orchid, large seedling
Brand: The Orchid Gallery
This vanda should produce lovely tessellated flowers similar to the main picture, above. This is a seed cross, so there will be some variation in the flowers, but all should be beautiful. This orchid seedling is in a 4-inch hanging basket. The leaf span is 5 to 6 inches or more, and we always ship the largest. We're calling it near blooming size, which means you can expect first flowers in 18 to 24 months if properly grown. But worth the wait. A mature plant in bloom woujld cost $50 or more at an orchid show. These are very tropical, so do keep them warm in the winter. Grow in dappled sunlight and remember to water daily. Use a liquid fertilizer. They are a little more work, but you get a lot more reward when they flower. They can have 5 to 7 flowers on a spike. And once it starts to bloom, it can flower several times a year depending on happiness quotient. You can buy with confidence. We guarantee customer satisfaction upon delivery.

Seedling size Miltassia Charles M Fitch orchid
Brand: The Orchid Gallery
This one is Miltassia Charles M Fitch 'Izumi' AM/AOS. A member of the oncidium family, this orchid (Brs varrucosa x Milt spectabilis) blooms twice a year when mature and pretty much grows like the proverbial weed. The flowers are just amazing -- relatively large, somewhat spidery and simply stunning. The color is a wonderful mottled lavender/purple on the petals and sepals, with a little olive green in the background; the large lip is a stunning lavender with some spots in the center. These are seedlings, about 18 to 24 months from first flowering if properly grown. Mature plants can have 6 to 8 flowers per bloom spike and we have seen some grown up specimens with a dozen or more spikes all at once. Spectacular! These are easy to grow. Medium light and water are best, fertilize weakly twice a month. We have a bunch of these and we'll pick out a nice one for you. You can buy with confidence. We guarantee customer satisfaction on arrival.
Blc Memoria A-Nunt Meesangnil cattleya orchid
Brand: The Orchid Gallery
This one will produce lovely yellow / greenish flowers with splashes of violet on the tips and a deeper yellow in the centers. This is a clone of Blc (or Rlc, if you insist) Rhyncholaeliocattleya Memoria A-Nunt Meesangnil, first registered in 1996. The breeding is Rhyncholaeliocattleya Greenwich x Cattleya Prem. If you're into cattleyas, this is a good one to have. These come in 3.5 inch pots and the longest leaves are 8 or 9 inches. Catts like bright indirect light and you should allow them to get dry or almost dry between waterings. Cattleyas are good beginner orchids as they can stand a little abuse. We have a bunch of these and we'll pick out a nice one for you. We always ship the largest plant. We think these are blooming size, which we define as likely to flower within 12 months or so. You can buy with confidence. We guarantee customer satisfaction upon delivery.
Cymbidium Spark Sprite 'Sparky' orchid, near blooming size
Brand: The Orchid Gallery
These easy-to-grow cymbidiums will put out lots of large, stunning patterned flowers, with a touch of brighter yellow in the center. Strikingly different. The flowers can be up to 2 inches across and this orchid is known for having lots and lots of flowers. One award winner had more than 300 blooms. The breeding on this mericlone is Cymbidium Sarah Jean x Cymbidium canaliculatum. Because it's a clone, all the flowers should look like the one pictured. It's relatively new, first registered in 2001. These are near blooming size plants that stand two feet high or a little more. We define near blooming size as likely to flower within the next 12 to 18 months or so if properly grown. Most have several pseudobulbs and we always ship the largest. We will ship freshly repotted. This is the 'Sparky' cultivar. Grow these in moderately bright indirect light. Keep slightly moist. Fertilize twice a month, rather weakly. You pretty much can't go wrong. We have a bunch of these. We'll pick out a nice one for you. You can buy with confidence. We guarantee customer satisfaction upon delivery.
CYMBIDIUM HIGH HOPES ‘EVERGLADES’ 4N X CYMBIDIUM HARRIET ISHITANI ‘TARHEEL’
Brand: Carter and Holmes Orchids
Model: 9922/25
The second parent is a spotted rose-red of intermediate growing parentage. Expect high flower count stems of white and light pink blooms, some with darker spotting. Large standard sized grower. Seedlings should grow well under warm summer conditions but some or most may still require a slight temperature drop to start bloom stems each fall.
Wilsonara Finial Fire orchid, seedling size, red flowers
Brand: The Orchid Gallery
This one is a nicely started orchid seedling that will put out lovely red flowers. It's a relatively new hybrid, registered in 2007. The breeding is Odontioda Fireflower x Oncidium Issaku Nagata. The result is a plant that puts out stunning red flowers like the ones pictured. This orchid has never been awarded, to our knowledge, so if you are into that sort of thing, honors are possible. If not, just enjoy the flowers when this orchid blooms. They are easy to grow, too. Provide bright indirect light and a temperature range of 60 to 85 degrees. Allow to get almost dry, but not quite, between waterings, like a phal. Fertilize twice a month or so. These are clones of a stunning, but not yet awarded plant. These are freshly repotted in 4 inch plastic pots. The longest leaves are 6 to 7 inches or more and we always ship the largest. These are likely to flower within 12 to 24 months or so if properly grown. They are not in bloom at present. We will ship in the pot. You can buy with confidence. We guarantee customer satisfaction on delivery.
Miltassia Shelob 'Tolkien' AM/AOS orchid large seedling
Brand: The Orchid Gallery
This kind of plant always gets oohs and ahs at our shows, and it makes a nice addition to any orchid collection. It's a really nice mericlone of an AM-awarded orchid. The breeding is Mtssa Olmec x Brs Edvah Loo. The flowers are large, spidery and gorgeous, approximately four to five inches from top to bottom. The color is mahogany and pink, with interesting olive green bands. The lip has beautiful pink tones. Mature plants can have multiple spikes, with 6 to 8 flowers on each spike. These are large seedlings with one or two pseudobulbs. They are freshly repotted into 3.5 inch pots. The longest leaves are 8 to 9 inches and we always ship the largest. We think these are likely to flower within 18 to 24 months or so. Please note that this orchid is not in flower now. We have a number of these and we'll pick out a nice one for you. The picture shows the kind of flowers to expect, and the plants in our greenhouse. We will ship in the pot. Medium light and water are best, fertilize weakly twice a month. We include free growing instructions. You can buy with confidence. If you are not happy with what you receive, simply return it within 14 days and we will provide a full refund.
