Hawaiian Passion 'Carmela' is a one of the most fragrant cattleya's out there! Most people who smell this plant say the fragrance reminds them of a sweet fruit. The original cross was made and registered by "Uncle" Ben Kodama of Kodama Orchids in 1991. This orchid is a compact grower and a prolific FRAGRANT bloomer. It consistently blooms off of each new growth and flowers in beautiful green clusters. This plant will always bloom in July-August and we've sold over 5000 plants of this particular clone (making it one of our best sellers). SIZE: Plants are potted in a 4" pots.

The breeding is Cymbidium Robert Rowe x Cymbidium Candy Floss. This is a clone of the 'Frae's Birthday' cultivar, which has not been awarded to our knowledge, but is one of the nicer ones around. This is a seedling, about 3 years away from first flowers. But a mature plant in bloom would cost $35 to $50 or more, so be patient, grow it up and voila! Grow these in moderately bright indirect light. Keep moist. Fertilize twice a month, rather weakly. You pretty much can't go wrong. These seedlings are freshly repotted in 3.5 inch pots.
