Thai basil, or "horapa" in Thai, has a unique flavor unlike other traditional basil such as Italian. The aroma is stronger, has a sweeter, peppery flavor slightly reminiscent of star anise, and it comes with hearty purple stems. Fresh basil is added to a variety of soups and curry, as well as a popular garnish to be eaten fresh. Vietnamese cooking uses this abundantly as well. We are pleased to offer a large bunch of fresh Thai basil which will arrive within 2 days after shipment, and we ship at the beginning of every week. The bunch weighs approximately 14 ounces, and has about 12 sprigs, each sprig with 25-30 leaves. This is a great deal considering the same basil is offered in a little plastic container at a local grocery store at $3.95 for one ounce.
We ship fresh Thai basil via Priority Mail, quick delivery within 2-3 days straight to your mailbox. They are packaged well and should be refrigerated promptly.

CARNIVOROUS PLANTS: Carnivorous plants have the most bizarre adaptations to low-nutrient environments. These plants obtain some nutrients by trapping and digesting various invertebrates. Because insects are one of the most common prey items for most carnivorous plants, they are sometimes called insectivorous plants. It is not surprising that the most common habitat for these plants is in bogs and fens, where nutrient concentrations are low but water and sunshine seasonally abundant. As many as thirteen species of carnivorous plants have been found in a single bog (Folkerts, 1982). Most plants absorb nitrogen from the soil through their roots. But carnivorous plants absorb nitrogen from their animal prey through their leaves specially modified as traps. Nature provides this remarkable plant with "traps" to lure and capture it's food. The traps are covered inside by tiny hairs and a sticky sweet smelling substance attractive to insects. When an insect touches the trigger hair, the trap is activated and closes around it's victim. After digestion of it's meal (whick takes several days), the trap will open again for a new catch. Keep moist at all times, rainwater or distilled water are preferred. Plants should not be fertilized (so therefore should be separated from your other plants). The insects it catches provide natural nourishment. Select a sunny window for your Venus Flytrap. In replanting only use sphagnum! Peat moss will do in a pinch. Put a plastic saucer underneath the plant to hold water and keep it's humidity proper but do not stand in a dish of water.'King Henry' Venus Fly Trap has an extremely large trap when mature!

Variety Pack of Unique Small Tillandsia Air Plants, Assortment of Exotic, Low Maintenance Live Air Plants Including Ionantha Rubra, Caput-Medusae, Harrissi, Velutina, & Ionantha Fuego Plants! (Set of 5) Our variety pack of assorted Tillandsia air plants is a lovely addition to any home or office decor - no soil or green thumb required! Tillandsia air plants are as low maintenance as they are beautiful! We recommend watering these plants 2-3 times per week, and fertilizer can be used up to twice monthly with bromeliad fertilizer. (If bromeliad fertilizer is unavailable, you can use other water soluble fertilizers - such as MiracleGro - at 1/4 strength.) After watering, your plants should dry within 4 hours. This is achieved by putting the plants in bright, filtered light near proper air ventilation. We advise against putting them in direct sunlight (the leaves may get sunburned) but Tillandsias cannot survive in standing water - this may lead to disease, as well. While sizes may vary, Cornucopia Brands assortment of exotic Tillandsia plants include (1) Ionantha Rubra, (1) Caput-Medusae, (1) Harrissi, (1) Velutina, and (1) Ionantha Fuego plant! Exotic plants are a staple for any terrarium or other garden project! With a little dab of non-water soluble glue, air ferns can be adhered to nearly any surface, such as driftwood, coral, seashells, rocks, and crystals.

Also included is a 2 oz. Hinterland Trading Air Plant Fertilizer to keep the plants vibrant and detailed care instructions. Air Plants (Tillandsia) get their common name from the fact they don’t require soil. They are epiphytes, which attach to other plants or trees for support. Their roots are only used to anchor themselves and are normally removed during cultivation for aesthetics. They are not parasitic, instead they gather micro nutrients from the air and water in structures called trichomes on their leaves. As the plant dries the trichomes take on a white powder look. After watering the plant will return to a vibrant green. Air Plants must dry fully between watering because they are susceptible to rot if left wet to long. These Air Plants will only bloom once, but after the bloom they can form up to 12 “Pupsâ€, or offspring, at their base. The main plant will slowly be on its way out, but the Pups will continue to thrive and will separate when mature. Air Plants prefer filtered sunlight as their natural home is under tree canopy. This makes them perfect house plants. Air Plant care is pretty simple. Upon arrival give your plants a good hour or two soak in a shallow bowl of water. Our plants are shipped on the drier side to avoid rot while in transit. Place the plants root/base side up and out of the water. The base is the area susceptible to rot if left wet to long.
